Baby Doll!

Ian was 3 months old here! Look at those cheeks and the fat on his arms!
He's going to be 14 years old this month! How in the world does the time go by so fast..it seems like just yesterday! I remember looking at his little piggys (toes) and kissing each of them and thanking God for picking us to be his parents. He was such a good baby too...always sweet and smiling and talking... and throwing up and pooping..and screaming...then he didn't want to sleep at night so he ended up with me or Ben in the rocker all night long. I guess it really wasn't always an easy task...we didn't know what to do with a baby. Much less a 9lbs 14oz baby (he really already looked like a 2 month old) Yes, Ben and I had practice with our nieces and nephews but there is still no amount of practice that will take you right into caring for and being responsible for your own child. We were no longer able to throw the diaper duty back on the parent cause we WERE the parents.

I was looking through pictures today and found these from a couple months ago. How in the world do they grow up so fast? From crawling to walking, from watching to doing, from riding a bike to learning how to drive his dad's truck! Ian was my first little man. We really had an idea he was a teenager when he started liking more 'manly' (sometimes smelly) smells. Axe is not something I would suggest anyone holding in front of an open flame...it might catch something on fire. It can mask the sweaty smell though if you decide you would rather hose yourself down with it instead of choosing...like mom said...to take a shower.

Ben's teaching Ian how to drive in our driveway....

Jacob...wishing and waiting for his turn in a few years
