Cupcakes for Dinner?

Have you ever seen Foodography on the Cooking Channel? I watched an episode the other day that was about cupcakes and cookies. Yum…definitely my kind of show. They told about the different cookies and biscotti and cakes etc. and it was so interesting (you know... since I don't really bake I like to WATCH people bake). Anyway, near the end of the show they introduced Cynthia Kallile from The Meatloaf Bakery in Chicago. Yes. I said The Meatloaf Bakery. She, evidently, has a bakery that bakes….savory cupcakes. What?!

Cynthia Kallile. says "Who said meatloaf always had to be baked as a‚ well, as a loaf? The icing on the cake turned out to be none other than meatloaf’s beloved sidekick, mashed potatoes. Suddenly meatloaf could taste great AND look beautiful. And in the food world, what could be more beautiful than dessert? From there, I refashioned my meatloaf into bite-size Loafies, savory cupcakes and family-size pastries, each topped with a special blend of potatoes, pasta, even veggies. That way they’d be fun for kids, adults, partygoers‚ just about anyone who eats!"

Check out some of her loafs...

The Mother Loaf: Beef, pork and veal cozy up to onions, ketchup and a special blend of seasonings and herbs. Delicious hot, even better cold! Topped with Yukon Smashers and meatloaf demi-glace on the side.

Yentl Lentl Loaf: A gluten-free vegetarian creation even meat lovers will enjoy tender lentils and uber healthy brown rice flavored with veggies and cheese. Topped with colorful bell peppers and served with roasted red bell pepper coulis.

A Wing and a Prayer Loaf: Hot and spicy wing sauce teams up with lots of crumbled blue cheese, ground chicken and celery for an easy to eat hot wing treat. Topped with buttery blue cheese crust and served with ranch dressing.

Loaf-A-Roma: Gooey fresh mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, fresh basil and a splash of red wine make this beef and Italian sausage meatloaf a favorite. Topped with a swirl of angel hair pasta and served with our own marinara sauce.
Also check out her loafies, sweets and more good stuff!

She even gives you the Loaf Quenchers best to wash all this cupcake and loafie goodness down with!

Hungry? I think I am.
