When My Heart Finds Christmas

When My Heart Finds Christmas

In my eyes are valentines
And easter eggs and new year's wine
But when my heart finds christmas
My eyes will shine like new

All the days are kind to me
But fall too far behind to see
But when my heart finds christmas
I hope it finds you too

Let the angels sing around us
Christmas time is here
Let our children's love surround us
Laughing and filled with cheer

My heart told me once before
To find my dream and search no more
And when my heart finds christmas
I hope it finds you too

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

I can't wait to come back and tell you all the wonderful things that have happened in the past couple months! Sooo exciting! But on this Christmas Day, I think I'll tell you about something else.

This morning, like the obsessive compulsive craze I am, I posted on every single Facebook Friends wall "Merry Christmas! Jesus was born for you today!" I love telling people about Jesus! He was born AND DIED for us and the gratitude that fills me every day is immeasurable. And though I may be a little naive sometimes to think that everyone I know loves Jesus the way I do, I LOVE to tell people about His birthday. So I'm GOING to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS. Not Happy Holidays. I didn't do it to be noticed or to single people out and I didn't have any expectations of anyone commenting back. I was happy and I wanted to share. It's the most wonderful time of the year! I DID hear from a LOT of people wishing my family well...I love that about Facebook. Wishing happiness on an anniversary or birthday, usually theirs but today the birth of Jesus. It keeps a world small, I think, when you can talk to friends from another time in your life.

The holiday season usually brings out the BEST in people on Facebook. Usually. I WAS naive and I didn't expect what I got. Offended. VERY offended. By a nonbeliever. How could one not have a clue about the birth of a Savior? In such outright blatant denial? Deny Christ. The thought is sad and scary. They ask 'How can God be born a human being and still be GOD? The King of Kings?'

"In opting to celebrate His birthday in Bethlehem in such low-key fashion, Jesus revealed Himself free from public opinion, from fear of what others might say or think. Jesus is the incarnation of the Father's freedom. Paradoxically, while the freedom of Jesus is contagious for some, in others it arouses defensiveness. They have set their faces against freedom, against surprise, against novelty." Brennan Manning: Lion and Lamb

How do you explain to someone that our God declared freedom from the ways of the world before he could cry his first cry?

May today, and every day after, you believe that all you look for in this world is found only in hope, grace, mercy, love, childlike joy, faith, salvation. Only in Him.

I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you always remember why we celebrate every year! Have a blessed coming week.

It's a Boy!!

Happy Christmas Wishes and Merry Everything but most of all Glory to God in the Highest!

What an awesome Christmas we had! AND it was a WHITE Christmas too! It's been so long I can't remember if I have ever seen a White Christmas. We didn't get much but it snowed on and off all day and we did nothing but sit inside praising Jesus for coming to save us and watching the snow and movies in our pj's.

This is the view from my chair. I hate the thought of taking it down because I will miss this glow!

These are some of my favorite ornaments this year...

and I got this from a VERY dear friend of mine. I LOVE snowmen!

I love this little ornament...Owen made it when he was in Ms. Lamberson's class. Her class is always called Lamberson's Lambs.

Comet anticipating the snow with the rest of us.

Ian and Katy about to head to a movie. Ben napping...for the second time. Can you find his face?

As I was finishing up the book of Luke this morning I started thinking about how hard that first Christmas day had to have been for Mary...giving birth to our Savior only to have to give Him up. How honored she must have felt. How scared. She gave us the One that would give us the gift of eternal life. Salvation.
I am so thankful for that, for my Savior and for the peace and comfort He gives to me every day.

There are still so many that choose not to accept His gift. It is the easiest thing in the world to do and they just won't take it. I pray every single day for friends and family members that are not willing to ask Christ into their hearts.
If you have questions about how to know Christ just ask me. I would love to introduce you.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there were with the angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2: 8-14

I hope you are having a blessed Christmas season!

Much love,

My mom bought me some towels for Christmas...because I asked for them...that's all I wanted ok? Anyway, she bought me towels from Target..their Home brand. AND I LOVE THEM! They are still soooooo soft and snuggly. I wish I had a really big one that I could stay wrapped up in like a blanket....I'm just sayin'.

Tis the Season!!

Have you ever been to The Opryland Hotel during the Christmas season? It is so very cool! We went last week with my sister, Gina, and her family and with my dad. We had so much fun! It was beautiful and the kids had a ball.

Everything on the outside of the hotel is lit up with lights.

There is a HUGE nativity scene.

This is what the conservatory looks like.
Emma Kate was amazed with everything.
Ian and Katy
Delaney and Owen emailed Santa while we were there.
We tried to get a good picture of the kids every chance we got.
Gina, Rob, Emma Kate, and Delaney with our Dad.
I think Daddy was getting a little tired of the snapshots too. He's not used to
having his picture made every 5 seconds.
The Christmas trees are HUGE.
Our family with Ian's sweet girlfriend, Katy.
Ben loves to love on Emma Kate.
Ian with two of his favorite girls...Katy and Delaney.
Papaw with some of his grandkids.
Jacob LOVES to take care of Emma Kate.
Love this sweet picture of them!

After walking around looking at all the lights we went to a restaurant close by called Cock of the Walk. They have the best catfish. They serve everything on aluminum platters family style and you eat on aluminum plates and drink out of aluminum cups. EK thought this was very cool.
They have this HUGE rocking chair that we always have to take pictures in.
The guys were ready to go home. Tired and full.

This was a GREAT Christmas family outing.

Hope you're having a blessed weekend!
